Lund Water Taxi (Reservations required)
Be sure to book your water taxi approximately 2 days in advance.
If you’ve never taken the water taxi before, here are a few tips:
when you arrive in Lund, drive down as close as possible to the loading dock to unload your things, then go back and park your car with Dave’s Parking. See Gary at Dave’s Parking (shed/office) and let him know your intended length of stay.
The water taxi station (and loading dock) is basically at the end of the road – just past the hotel straight in front of you. Vehicles are constantly coming and going, loading in and out, so you will get your turn but ensure that you arrive early enough to be able to unload your belongings from your vehicle and get them down on the dock. You also need to pay for your water taxi/land taxi trip at this time. The office is right beside where you park to unload.
Pack the majority of your things in totes as your belongings may be exposed. Backpacks and suitcases are fine.
For more information on the amount of luggage you can bring, please call the Lund Water Taxi at 1-604-483-9749 or visit their website at www.lundwatertaxi.com. When you book, tell them how many people and how much stuff (eg: family of 4 plus dog for a week – they will get the picture). You are allowed bikes/kayaks for an extra charge. There is no charge for pets.
When you book your water taxi, they will ask you if you also want the land taxi for when you arrive on Savary Island, which you do unless you know someone who can pick you up and take you to your destination. You should also arrange your return voyage while you are there.
